Day 1, Still Tired From The Move |
|
Day one was relatively uneventful when compared to day zero. Julie was brought to our room early as she was hungry and fussing. Hannah fed with amazing ease. This breast feeding thing doesn't seem to be the hassle everything left us with the impression it would be. At any rate, Julie spent most if not all of the day with us in our room. Since Hannah ran a low-grade fever during labor, and since her water had been broken for more than 24 hours prior to delivery, the nurses had to do blood tests on the baby every few hours. It was rather distressing to see her feet all pricked up but the nurses said that she handled the situation very well. She seems to have an old soul.
My parents came for the morning visitation as they had to head back to DE. Hannah's parents came, along with her sister, for the afternoon visitation. I am still amazed with how alert the baby seems. She even picks up her head to look around. Of course when she isn't alert she's out cold. I guess she's still tired from the move. It will be nice to move her into our house tomorrow. We have been preparing for so long it will be nice to see everything come to fruition.
