Time For Timeout
Juliet got her first exposure to time-out today. We have contemplated introducing this for months, but her behavior didn't really seem to warrant it. But she is now really pushing the boundaries. We're using the pack-and-play as a jail cell. We're not sure we want to use this long run because she may connotate negative feelings with it. However some of the 5000 articles on the topic recommend such a place. Maybe we will try a chair once she gets a better grasp of the concept of time-out. I really do not think that she will sit in one place at this point. Anyway, what was her first offense? Purposely shoving my laptop to the floor. Her second offense: knocking over a chair while she was in time-out for the first offense (I think she was trying to escape). She's looking like a recidivist to me.

Sonja is still poop-filling several diapers a day and eating like a horse. It would be interesting to be able to weigh her on a regular basis but we don't have a scale capable of going down to the ounce. Well, we have a food scale but I think she's already over the weight limit on that. Sonja's nighttime patterns are becoming more regular and reasonable as well. She seems to be doing the normal 2:00-3:00 AM feeding thing without all of the hoopla she had at first.

Juliet slept through the night as well. I don't know if these bouts are the result of the new arrival or the Daylight Savings Time change that occurred three weeks early this year. We're doing our best to "treat" for both potential causes.
