Nightmare On Barclay Street
Never take your baby out during the witching hour. That's the lesson we learned when we sojourned to Heather & Jim's place. 12 miles down 309 at the tail end of rush hour and the beginning of Witching Hour. Juliet loves the car, as long as it is moving. Stop & go just don't cut it. We spent half an hour trapped in a tiny auto with a very loudly screaming 10 week old (10 weeks today!) surrounded by sub-moronic drivers. Ugh, not good.

Julie pretty much calmed right down when we arrived but she was still cranky and clingy most of the rest of the night. Hannah and I took turns bobbin' and feedin'. She slept intermittently giving us a chance to partake of the Mexican fiesta prepared by Jim & Heather. It was most yummy. That carne asada steak that Heather's dad made was just unbelievable.

We got home around 10:45 or so. Without rush hour the trip was much more peaceful, although Julie still came out of her haze to scream at every red light (she was showing hunger signs).

Hannah topped her off and put her down in her crib. Julie wasn't into that so after letting her go for a bit I picked her up and bobbed her for about ten minutes before putting her back down. She napped solid until 2:30ish. Hannah gave her a quick feeding and was in bed by 3:00 (we had fallen asleep on the couch, again).

It seems that trips to places upset her schedule. This, of course, is not too surprising. Do you think we take her out too much?
