| Floor time seems to really be paying off now. While Hannah wasn't looking Juliet rolled over in her seat. Granted this is not the ideal place for this type of behavior but it shows her motor skill and determination. After the changing of the guard and the afternoon feeding Julie and I did some more floor time during which she rolled over twice more, unprovoked. She seems to easily roll back-to-front but she still does not roll front-to-back. This is unusual since rolling front to back is supposed to be easier since the baby can use arms to push. Juliet always seems to get stuck on her arm. Julie didn't nap very well today and as such was cranky as hell come 7:00 PM. Hannah was supposed to get out at 6:00 PM but didn't actually arrive home until 8:00 PM. Of course she didn't call to let me know what was up and my calls to her went unreturned. So there I am, an hour and a half after she was supposed to be home, not knowing if she's coming or when, no milk in the fridge, a baby weird and pissed off because it's time for her bedtime feeding and she's sooo ready for both feed and bed. By that time I had already run through all of the baby activites that I know: floor time, reading, sky-baby, Beethoven, singing, dancing, miscellaneous embarassing antics that Julie finds hystrical, that kind of thing. Hannah finally called and suggested that I feed her some formula to hold her over. Not happy with this "solution" but doing it anyway for some strange reason, I whipped up the faux milk. Now I know why I didn't want to do that: the two-ounce teaser didn't keep her happy in the interim; it pissed her off. Happily, Hannah walked in just as I was trying to convince Finster that I had stopped the feeding to belch her as opposed to teasing her with a mere two ounces. Anyway, a quick feeding, some mommy time (during which she was an absolute angel thereby making me look like an ass), a change of diaper and she was off to nappy land. |
