Ring, Part Deux |
|
This is the last day to get the order in and still have the thing show up on time. I frantically call the credit card company. They don't know what I'm talking about, but they will put notes on the account with the address with the rough amount of the purchase. Lettuce pray.
So I get back on Blue Nile. Some schmuck has bought my diamond, dammit. So had to I buy the next best thing: .59 carat, E color, IF, ideal cut set in platinum. I took a ring out of Hannah's jewelry box to measure for size. I used an online diameter-to-ring-size converter to get the information I needed. The order was submitted and I could finally relax. I emailed Chuck and Rachel to let them know that a "special package" was on the way. I love being mysterious. Anyway, I told them to be discreet when it showed up in an effort to hide it's arrival from Hannah. I was still trying to figure out what I was going to do for a proposal.
So I can relax eh? Well, that is until the credit card company calls that evening. They left a message that Hannah heard about wanting to verify credit card charges. Being fed up with all of the hassles, I exclaimed "why the hell are they calling me..." I was about the finish that sentence with "...I already called them 100 times today." Happily I realized that I was about to let the cat out of the bag and shut my mouth. I went into the office and called them while Hannah was out of earshot and reassured them that I really wanted to run my credit card up that high. *whew* All is well. |
